Ran : Norse Goddess of the Sea Pendant
In Norse mythology, Ran is a goddess and personification of the sea. Her Husband, Aegir, is also a personification of the sea, and together they have 9 daughters who personify waves. Ran was thought of as the "sinister" side of the sea, as she uses her net to catpure sea-goers to bring them to her. She is the ruler of the realm of the dead who die at sea.
Ran isn't mentioned often in the sagas, but I absolutely felt inspired and drawn to her story. This pendant sits at over 3" tall. It is a hand drawn design, with hand sawn and made details. I wanted her to be beautiful and bold, just like the sea. Adorned with 6 Austrailian Opal doublets, Ammolite and Pyrite druzy, you can see her net in her cheek and bail details.
This necklace comes with a long chain, about 36". I am able to make a custom length chain in the measurements of your specifications at no extra charge! Please email me at RiverAndSeaHandmade@gmail.com, or message me on Instagram (@RiverAndSeaHandmade) and let me know what length you choose!
