WW1 era Red Cross button set in sterling silver, hand textured and on an 18" chain. Lovingly made by hand. 
 
Buttons like these were worn during WW1 to show support or involvement with the Red Cross on the homefront during the war. These buttons were given out for contributions to the organization, and showed patriotism and support for the troops, and no doubt encouraged others to do the same.
